2. Managing married life - AN Exploration

    Objectives
The transition from a daughter to a daughter-in-law is a journey that has remained largely unexplored. There are many myths and misconceptions around a married women’s role. Just like any other threshold this too is not quite effortless. Life many times has to be redefined and the girl has to work around new expectations (that come with marriage) as well as continue to search her identity. The co-holding of these multiple roles vis a vis the self requires efforts and inner strength. With the birth of a child the role is further expanded to ‘motherhood’. This workshop is designed to be experiential and would be based on sharing of various women from different life contexts, fields and stages of life. It would provide a sounding board to explore coping mechanisms and focus on adjustment skills of making these busy years most fruitful. Newly married women and women who are still struggling to balance out multiple roles are likely to benefit most form this workshop.
